A karaoke CDG is a Compact
disc that contains graphics data in addition
to
the audio data on the disc. The karaoke CDG
can be played on a regular Audio CD player,
but when played on a special karaoke CDG player,
can output a graphics signal to a monitor or
TV.
A karaoke CDG is a specially formatted disc
that has an additional line of sub-code on the
CD that is responsible for the lyrics that play
on video screen for Karaoke systems. Karaoke
CDG stands for Compact Disc + Graphics.
A Karaoke CDG does not have lead vocals. They
only have background vocals and instrumentals.
Standard audio CD players will play the audio
portion of a karaoke CDG, but not the graphics.
Computer CD-ROMs will usually, but not always,
be able to play the audio portion as well. |
